Welcome to Carlos Moro x Composites Materials (CM2) Research Lab!
Our research group focuses on studying new approaches to creating sustainable multifunctional concrete and other cementitious composites. The research highlights the importance of adopting a holistic approach in terms of its life cycle assessment, with three main pillars that should be considered to move towards a zero-impact sustainable concrete: (i) the composite performance, (ii) the impact during production (impact of materials used and potential valorization of wastes), and (iii) the proactive effects to reduce pollution (such as photocatalytic and self-cleaning effect and CO2 uptake).
